Training and psychosocial patterns during the early development of Portuguese national team athletes

This study explored the early development of expert athletes compared to a group of athletes that did not achieve an expert level of performance despite being involved in youth events with their national squads. In particular, the activities, training patterns, and psychosocial influences that characterized their paths in competitive sports were examined. Male and female participants (N?=?42) from different sports were interviewed. Overall, athletes showed several commonalities. However, experts were selected to national squads later and also started thinking about investing in becoming elite athletes later. Non-experts revealed more parental pressure and less individual training with coaches.  相似文献

Expatriate academics and transnational teaching: the need for quality assurance and quality enhancement to go hand in hand

ABSTRACT

In the past two decades, transnational education has been increasing and so has the need for staff to teach on these programmes. This study sought the views of non-Anglophone expatriate academics teaching transnationally in Oman by means of a survey and follow-up interviews. It highlights the challenges that they face in a teaching and learning environment that is academically and culturally new to them. These challenges relate mostly to the students, as they need extensive structured guidance, and to maintaining programme quality in meeting the learning outcomes, particularly critical thinking and writing in English. Teaching adaptation and quality assurance were less challenging. Findings indicate that for a more enhanced teaching and learning environment, both the provider and host institution need to continuously invest in face-to-face professional development addressing the challenges expatriate academics experience, and that the sole focus on quality assurance by provider universities is not sufficient to create this.  相似文献

[目的/意义]研究数字经济时代，知识作为关键战略资源和核心资产，对理论和实践提出的新挑战。[方法/过程]采用文献资料调研法和理论分析法，基于网络实体系统（CPS）对数字经济时代知识管理的挑战和趋势进行分析阐述。[结果/结论]数字经济时代，知识管理在对象上对数据的获取和整合要求更高，在增值体系上对数据到信息再到知识的精度、实时性和准确性要求更高，异构整合和数据挖掘成为知识管理的关键，人机交互和人工智作为关键技术将发挥关键作用，在知识管理的目标上，数据驱动的价值创造成为核心。未来知识管理的发展将在战略上向实时动态精准决策演化，在架构上转向全域知识管理，在组织上通过无障碍知识流打造高效创新型组织，在内容上系统整合碎片化知识，在方法上重视基于人机交互的隐性知识转化，在技术上打造基于平台的知识图谱。  相似文献

Addressing the challenges of critical communication pedagogy scholarship: moving toward an applied agenda

Critical communication pedagogy (CCP) scholarship is a relatively new and important area of research that evaluates how language is used to both empower and marginalize. It faces challenges in terms of recognition and publication outlets. In this essay, I argue that scholars face obstacles when attempting to publish pedagogical work that is critical in nature. I make the case that a major reason that CCP scholarship is not as widely recognized is that it is largely not considered to be applied work. By sharing my experiences, I argue that scholars working in CCP can help to overcome these barriers to recognition and publication by developing an applied language and focus for CCP, demonstrating how CCP can be used to recognize and respond to hegemony in the classroom and in society.  相似文献

Nature intends that the physical and hormonal changes of pregnancy insure the growth and development not just of the baby but of the mother. The physical and emotional changes of pregnancy and, then, labor, birth, and breastfeeding play vital roles in guiding women on the journey of becoming a mother. Standard prenatal care and medicalized labor and birth interfere in powerful ways with nature''s plan and, consequently, women''s ability to negotiate this journey.
