Help that hurts? Perceptions of intergroup assistance

The current research, guided theoretically by the Intergroup Helping as Status Relations Model, explored how high and low status groups (Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs) perceive offers of help from the high to the low status group. Ninety-three Arab and Jewish participants were asked to imagine and evaluate offers of help from Jews to Arabs in Israel. Consistent with the hypothesis that members of high and low status groups would have different perspectives and goals in their relations, Israeli Arabs viewed help by Israeli Jews more as a way to reinforce existing hierarchy and as a way of asserting the higher groups’ domination. Recognizing the different orientations of members of high and low status groups to potentially conciliatory actions, such as helping behavior, can enhance understanding of the dynamics of intergroup relations and conflict and reveal factors that might fuel intergroup misunderstandings and tensions, which can represent a critical step to improving intergroup relations.  相似文献   

文化“双核”理论视阈下我国龙舟体育文化传承的内容逻辑及范式研究*

从文化“双核”理论的视角看,我国龙舟体育文化的传承内容及范式是龙舟体育文化人才培养工作的关键问题之一.运用文献研究、问卷调查、专家访问、数理统计与逻辑分析等方法,对我国龙舟体育文化的传承内容及范式进行了深入探讨.结果表明:我国龙舟体育文化传承的主要内容包括龙舟精神文化、龙舟竞渡文化、龙舟教育文化、龙舟娱乐文化、龙舟物质文化与龙舟经贸文化等六类亚文化及其它们所涵盖的二十种具象文化.而我国龙舟体育文化传承的基本范式可概括为基于血缘关系的宗族传承范式、基于自在自发的民间传承范式、基于政府促进的社会培养范式与基于学校领域的教育培养方式.廓清上述龙舟文化的传承内容及范式对于当下我国龙舟体育文化传承人才培养工作面临的难题破解具有重要价值.  相似文献   

The role of a digital engineering platform in appropriating the creation of new work-related mind-set and organisational discourse in a large multi-national company

This paper reports on a case study involving a strategic and innovative approach to creation of an in-house multifaceted digital engineering platform (the DEP) in overcoming a number of organisational problems at a multinational engineering company. The DEP was to be used strategically for simplifying the operational complexity and to create and appropriate new work-related mind-set and new organisational discourse to achieve homogenous working across the organisation, which is a huge challenge. The need for this system emerged from the need to resolve many organisational services related problems that carried phenomenal amount of processes, health and safety risks and to regulate, and, control the running of engineering project. Research data were collected using a longitudinal case study approach over a period of six months. In order to make sense of how the DEP helped the organisation, the study used certain elements of Extended Structuration Theory as a lens to assess the case study. This research discovered that the DEP succeeded in creating and appropriating work-related mind-set and organisational discourse. It also had real influence on working processes and employees at all levels while encouraging transparency, responsiveness, agility and accountability. It continues to help the organisation to govern, manage and maintain good standard of service but many barriers still remain.  相似文献

对普通高校开设传统射箭课程的哲学思考

摘要：在哲学层面，以传统射箭在普通高校体育课程中的开设为切入点，运用文献资料法和逻辑分析法从本体论、过程论以及文化安全的角度对这一现象进行剖析，力求透过现象研究事物的本质，揭示事物发展的客观规律，更好的服务于中国传统体育的发展。研究表明:人的身心全面发展是当前传统射箭回归高校的基本出发点；传统射箭的发展作为一个动态的过程与人类对它的认知和需求息息相关；最后，传统射箭也是体育传统文化传承的重要载体。通过对传统射箭发展的哲学思考给予我国传统体育的发展以良好启示，即在促进学生身心健康的前提下，保护传统体育自身文化安全，汲取异质体育文化的积极要素，才能在全球体育文化大融合的潮流中实现中国传统体育的现代化。  相似文献

学习外语是为了更好的交流,多元化的价值观和日益增多的人际交往使得沟通变得愈加重要。可以让对方理解的、成功的语言交际需要人们具备完成任务的能力和跨文化理解的能力(包括通过接触多种文化开拓眼界,理解并尊重其他文化)。传统的日语听说教学关注学生词汇、句型的掌握等,教学内容侧重日语能力考试的听力训练,也就是语言知识本身的掌握情况,新的教学理念要求侧重培养学生的实际语言应用能力、对不同文化的理解能力以及学生的一般素养。本文在分析目前高职日语听说课程教学中存在问题的基础上,结合专门用途英语理论,提出日语听说课程教学模式改革的一些建议。  相似文献   

Preservice secondary subject teachers incorporating movement integration into classroom practice

The present study explores Finnish preservice subject teachers’ perspectives and experiences with movement integration in academic classrooms. In the study, 44 subject teachers applied an integrated approach to infuse physical activity into a required teacher-preparatory course. The program’s framework is the constructivist learning approach. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations and field notes. The findings show that movement integration was a new concept for the preservice teachers and that their experience positively influenced their beliefs regarding the use of that concept in academic lessons. Thus, it is possible to support implementation of movement integration into secondary academic classrooms.  相似文献
