This study presents young children’s hypotheses about the process of drawing, i.e., it deals with the construction of knowledge in drawing from the child’s perspective. Using both a longitudinal and an exploratory design, the author followed the processes of production and ‘reading’ of drawings developed by six young children, aged 2 to 6, for three years. The author relates constructive studies about children’s drawings with their ideas in each stage of drawing. The results indicate that children conceive of drawing as an object in which action and thought are related. 相似文献

In this study, we analyze the contribution of the undergraduate student who participates in the process of generating scientific data and developing a research project using Brazilian research as an example. Historically, undergraduate students have performed the critical role of research assistants in developing countries. This aspect has been underappreciated as a means of generating scientific data in Brazilian research facilities. Brazilian educational institutions are facing major age-related generational changes among the science faculty within the next 5–10 yr. A lack of adequate support for graduate students leads to a concern that undergraduates will not be interested in choosing research assistant programs and, subsequently, academic research careers. To remedy this situation it is important to focus on ways to encourage new research careers and enhance university–industry collaborations. 相似文献

Abstract The objective of this study was to identify the methodological approaches employed in a sample of Brazilian distance education scientific literature and compare with similar publications in the United States. Brazilian sample articles (N = 983) published in several journals and meetings were compared with a sample of articles published in The American Journal of Distance Education (AJDE) from 1987 to 2006. A categorization system based on Gall, Gall, and Borg (2006) and Lee, Driscoll, and Nelson (2007) was used. The methodological approach employed in the Brazilian sample was predominantly qualitative, and this feature remained largely unchanged over the past seven years. The predominant research method continues to be exploratory, followed by case studies. Of note, the most frequent research topic in AJDE articles was evaluation, contrasting with the predominant topic of management in Brazilian publications. 相似文献

Art in School Network links 18 universities and other cultural institutions in all Brazil to promote visual literacy and analytical skills among primary and secondary school students. Since 1989 it has operated through partnerships with academic and cultural institutions in developing teacher training programmes and distributing art documentaries on videotape. Over 7 years it has reached 15 million students in Brazil. Dr Ana Mae Barbosa is the consultant for the network. In Catarina State, the network links 5 universities and is based on studies of the life and work of local artists as a prelude to the Triangular Proposal (criticism, history and art production). 相似文献
