Serum adenosine deaminase (ADA), 5′ nucleotidase (5′NT) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were estimated in patients with acute infective
hepatitis (AIH) along with the routine parameters of liver disease. Present study is done to evaluate these special parameters
in patients with clinical history of AIH and to assess the utility of these parameters as diagnostic/ prognostic indices of
liver function and to correlate special parameters with routine live function tests (LFT). ADA, 5′NT and MDA along with routine
LFT was estimated in 25 patients with AIH and 25 samples from healthy voluntary blood donars served as the control group.
Routine LFT was estimated by standard clinical chemistry procedures on dade behring analyser and ADA, 5′NT and MDA were estimated
by berthlot reaction, fiske and subbarao method and thiobarbituric acid method respectively.
Statistical analysis showed that serum ADA, 5′NT and MDA were significantly higher in patients as compared with the controls.
There was a significant positive correlation between ADA and total bilirubin and MDA and total bilirubin. Hence we can conclude
that these tests would be more sensitive to diagnose the patients with AIH and that the raised bilirubin levels could be looked
upon, as a protective mechanism which the liver has evolved in order to combat oxidative stress. 相似文献

Research points to significant numbers of students on college campuses experiencing mental health distress and an ever increasing number of college students who are choosing to make an off-campus educational experience a part of their college careers. When we consider both of these trends together, it is quite apparent that a significant number of students with mental health concerns will spend periods of time studying away from campus, with converging concerns among college mental health and study away professionals about how to best support these students. This article seeks to outline both challenges and opportunities inherent in the collaboration between campus professionals in supporting students with mental health issues before and during their study away experiences. 相似文献

胸水腺苷脱氨酶检测对结核性胸膜炎的诊断意义 总被引：3，自引：0，他引：3
目的：探讨胸水的腺苷脱氨酶（ADA）测定值对结核性胸膜炎的诊断意义和应用价值。方法：对436例住院的胸腔积液患者分别行结核菌素纯蛋白衍生物（PPD）试验，同时应用酶速率法检测胸水标本中ADA的活性．比较二者的灵敏度及特异度。所有患者试验前均未行抗结核治疗。结果：ADA试验灵敏度（96．1％）高于PPD（90．2％）。二者差异有显著性（P〈0．05）。结论：胸腔积液ADA含量的检测对于早期诊断及治疗结核性胸膜炎具有积极意义。 相似文献

Abstract An overview of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) is presented. The article emphasizes that Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is the federal law upon which the ADA is built. A comparison of Section 504 and the ADA is presented in the paper. An analysis is offered of the case law that has emerged under Section 504 that serves as a guide to the rights and responsibilities of social work programs and faculty under the ADA. Serum Adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity in normal healthy control subjects increases upto 30 years, remains steady between
31–60 years of age and shows a steep increase in the age group of 61–70 years. This was compared with serum aspartate transaminase
(AST) and alanine transaminase (ALT) activity which also showed a gradual increase upto 40 years of age and decreased thereafter.
The activities of serum ADA, AST and ALT increased in patients with hepatitis of all age groups compared to their respective
controls. The degree of increase in the activities of the above enzymes in hepatitis, decreased with age. The present study
also shows that while studying serum ADA activity in hepatitis for diagnostic purposes, the value obtained in a particular
age group should be compared with normal range of values for the respective age group only. 相似文献

Summary The main library Web pages representing Yahoo!'s list of the “100 Most Wired Colleges” were analyzed for accessibility to people with disabilities. Forty of the pages were judged accessible using Bobby, the online automated service developed by the Center for Applied Special Technology. Frequencies of accessibility errors, recommendations, questions, tips, and browser compatibility errors are provided. The study found no relationship between accessibility of the library home pages and indicators of institutional resources, as represented by Yahoo! ranking (computer resources), Association of Research Libraries composite ranking (extent of library resources), and Carnegie Classification (range and extent of academic and research resources). Guidelines for accessible Web pages and an Adaptive PC Computer Workstation are included. 相似文献
