In India, more than 276 million children and youth were out of school for extended periods since March 2020 due to school closures in response to COVID-19. A key challenge has been how to measure the impact of responses to continuity of learning both to ensure more effective responses in the event of further disruptions, but also to help the education community conceptualize more creative and effective approaches to learning, through blended and flexible approaches. This study reflects on the findings from a UNICEF survey targeting parents and adolescents across 6 states in India, and identifies lessons learned for addressing learning inequities during future school closures. We focus on measuring three key variables – access to technology, their utilization, and perceived learning for different profiles of children. As students began learning from home, technology access rates in households were initially used to determine the estimated maximum reach of different distance learning modalities during school closures. Beyond access, we find significant variations in adolescents’ use of technology for learning purposes and their perceptions of learning, linked to the type of remote learning modality, gender, location and type of school. We discuss the implications for government strategies and policies to ensure better utilization of technologies which are available in households and to address equity gaps in learning opportunities.  相似文献

The analysis of sport performance in competitive contexts has become synonymous with the use of a range of software applications and hardware e.g. heart rate monitors and gps systems. With the prevalence of technology in mind, a small but growing corpus of literature has begun to consider this phenomenon and its influence upon the coaching process. This study adds to this literature by detailing the autoethnographic experiences of a case study coach; Derek. A contextualised and richly described narrative account of Derek’s experience of using coaching applications is provided. Analysis of Derek’s narrative suggests that technology can be a useful means by which individuals make sense of their experience. Specifically, (1) technology can be a ‘ready-to-hand’ instrument that enhances the coaching process. Unfortunately, (2) technology may become the only and ‘calculative’ means by which individuals come to understand their performance. In such instances, it is important to note that (3) the videos we use to understand our performance are transformed and incomplete representations of lived athletic experiences. Thus, Derek’s story illustrates how technology can be both an enabler and barrier to athletes who wish to holistically understand their own lived experiences and engage in coach-athlete relationships. The accompanying analysis draws upon concepts from Heideggerian philosophy to add insight into the use of technology within the coaching process. In so doing, the study prompts coaches to critically view their coach-athlete relationships as situated in a wider world which contains, and can be mediated by, technology. In addition, Derek’s story (re)directs researchers and coaching practitioners interested in technology to a useful literature (philosophy of technology) which may further inform their understanding of coach-athlete relationships.  相似文献

Research on the adoption of systems for big data analytics has drawn enormous attention in Information Systems research. This study extends big data analytics adoption research by examining the effects of system characteristics on the attitude of managers towards the usage of big data analytics systems. A research model has been proposed in this study based on an extensive review of literature pertaining to the Technology Acceptance Model, with further validation by a survey of 150 big data analytics users. Results of this survey confirm that characteristics of the big data analytics system have significant direct and indirect effects on belief in the benefits of big data analytics systems and perceived usefulness, attitude and adoption. Moreover, there are mediation effects that exist among the system characteristics, benefits of big data analytics systems, perceived usefulness and the attitude towards using big data analytics system. This study expands the existing body of knowledge on the adoption of big data analytics systems, and benefits big data analytics providers and vendors while helping in the formulation of their business models.  相似文献

Technology acceptance has spawned considerable research in technology adoption, technology use, and technology switching. However, technology choice—i.e., an individual’s selection of a technology from a set of technologies that support similar tasks—has received limited attention in information systems research. This research was aimed at identifying the drivers of technology choice through a series of activities in two universities, in which students chose an information technology tool from various alternatives to complete the given tasks. A thematic analysis was conducted on the reasons for technology choice reported by 249 students, which yielded 18 technology, user, and environmental drivers that influenced individuals’ technology choice. This study provides insights into the drivers generally applicable for technology choice and drivers applicable in specific contexts. Implications for research and practice are discussed.  相似文献

学科边界是学科的重要属性,教育技术学需要守正自身边界。教育技术学是教育技术的理论抽象,认识教育技术学的边界要先从认识教育技术边界开始。教育技术是一种客观存在,其边界的划定可以从教育技术本体和实践两个维度进行,教育理念和技术手段的不断变革和进步推动着教育技术边界的不断拓展。教育技术学是一个科学理论体系,不但具有知识属性,还承载着社会属性,并具有明显的“国籍性”。我国教育技术学的学科边界取决于其核心问题的理论关联度和教育技术学的主要研究话题。同时,学科跨界成为教育技术学超越自我的发展动力,这是由教育技术研究问题的复杂性和学科性质决定的。教育技术学应从学科封闭走向学科间性,这既要树立教育技术研究的问题意识,还要加强独立学科意识。学科意识既是学科跨界的起点,也是学科跨界的归宿。  相似文献

作为一种开放、智能、灵活的数字化学习工具,开源硬件是培养中小学生设计思维能力的重要载体。为了探索设计思维培养与开源硬件教学实践双向耦合的新路径,文章首先解析了设计思维概念内涵,对典型设计思维培养模型及特征进行分析,并将其解构为更具显性化操作意义的五大核心能力:换位思考、抽象定义、创意构想、原型迭代和迁移应用;其次,汲取设计型学习理论核心要义,借鉴“基于设计的双循环探究模型”,构建了设计思维导向的开源硬件教学模式,从“调查/探究”“设计/再设计”“反思”三个循环过程对其具体应用进行阐释;最后,以“智慧校园生活”为项目主题开展开源硬件教学实践,为新版高中信息技术课程标准中“开源硬件项目设计”模块的教学实施提供范例。  相似文献
