| Abstract: | During the period of the Republic of China, especially of Anti-Japanese War, Tianshui formed a quite prosperous book culture, which attracted attention from Gansu and the northern part of China. It was caused by complex reasons such as the effects of cultural tradition, efforts made by the local people and influences of the political situation. The prosperous book culture also had efforts on social education, academic research, artistic activities, communication with westerns and so on. |
