| 摘 要： | 通过对杨宪益、戴乃迭译《红楼梦》中的委婉语的研究来探讨汉语委婉语的可译性及翻译技巧。汉语委婉语英译主要有以下几种方法：1、译成英语中对应的委婉语，2、直接译出核心意思，3、省略，4、译出字面意义，5、注释法。
