自由民局是美国南方重建时期处理被遗弃土地及自由民问题的军事组织。它延续了内战时期军队实行的强制性劳动合同政策；也根据南方的实际情况采取了一些新措施，如帮助黑人购买或租种土地；设立法庭，处理黑白人之间的合同纠纷；改进自由民的医疗及健康状况；为其提供救济；关心南方自由民的教育，从思想上改造他们，使其适应资本主义社会新秩序。自由民局在南方重建中起了非常重要的作用。  相似文献

Separated and integrated perspectives on environmental,economic, and social dimensions – an investigation of student views on sustainable development

The sustainable development (SD) concept is based on the idea that economic and social development should be linked to the environment. However, controversies about various associated issues often arise due to the differences in protagonists’ viewpoints, depending partly on whether they focus mainly on environmental, economic, or social dimensions and partly on ideological stances related (for instance) to the optimal ways of promoting economic growth and social justice. This study investigates views of 638 Swedish upper secondary students who responded to a questionnaire probing their views of SD from two perspectives. In the first, the dimensions were separately introduced, so the respondents only had to consider one dimension at a time. In the second, the dimensions were introduced in an integrated fashion, so the respondents had to consider effects related to all three dimensions. The results strongly indicate that the students’ views and priorities concerning the dimensions depend on both the perspective and the context. Implications for teaching and learning are discussed.  相似文献

19、20世纪之交美国社会经济的巨变和转型促成了“进步主义运动”的兴起。运动的倡导者源自美国社会各主要阶层和集团，共同的社会责任感和危机意识将其维系在一起。作为自由主义改革的集大成者，这场运动从19世纪后期美国的各类改革实践中汲取营养，以之作为渊源和动力并有所超越。由于该时期美国社会转型的复杂性，“进步主义运动”也蕴涵诸多悖论，对其加以准确释读对于观照普遍意义上的资本主义转型不无裨益。  相似文献

Maintaining teachers’ face in the context of change: results from a study of Vietnamese college lecturers’ perceptions of face

Gaining and saving face are very important in Vietnam as a mechanism of social control, including the professional behaviour of teachers. Interviews with 15 lecturers (aged 24–37) at a teacher training college in a Central Coast province of Vietnam illustrated the relationship between their concepts of face and their beliefs about good teaching. Most were still strongly influenced by traditional Confucian beliefs about the role and position of teachers, the nature of teachers’ knowledge and the relationship between teachers and students. On the other hand, some teachers also were aware of, and to a limited extent open to, more modern ideas that seemed to be related to broad social changes and reforms in approaches to teaching and learning in recent decades in Vietnam. The findings suggest that some teacher educators are uncertain about the value of traditional professional wisdom in the context of critical changes in society and in education. The research also suggests that the concepts of face and saving face are important for teachers’ sense of agency, and that Vietnamese educational authorities could increase the effectiveness of innovations in teacher education by paying attention to the influence of concepts of face on the teachers’ beliefs and behaviours.  相似文献

Can the development, both clinical and managerial, of practitioners involved in healthcare be enriched by connecting action learning principles and practice with research on ‘tempered radicals’? Might such connection also assist the efforts of patients and their advocates to create more holistic approaches to patient care? This paper explores these questions with reference to a UK Department of Health project to improve renal services. 在高等教育大众化及教育现代化的背景下,远程教育质量已经引起世界各国的高度重视。不同国家或机构依据自身国情及教育环境,在不同的价值取向和质量观指导下,形成各自的远程教育质量评估体系。近十年我国远程教育质量评估文献表明：从外部评估角度来看,英国、美国、澳大利亚的现代远程教育质量评估体系在质量观、评估标准、执行者、过程及效果反馈等方面有各自的特征,且具有较好的实施效果。我国在建立远程教育质量评估体系时,可以在结合自身国情的基础上,借鉴他国的有益措施。  相似文献
