媒体导向与大众情感--以民国时期的施剑翘复仇案为例

1935年11月,归隐军阀孙传芳在天津居士林被施剑翘枪杀。这场复仇奇案轰动了全国,引起媒体的广泛关注。众多媒体同情并塑造了施剑翘良好的形象,极大地引导了大众情感。在“法”与“情”的论争中,国民政府选择了民意所向的“情”的一面,施剑翘最终被特赦。“施剑翘案”是中国司法史上的大事,也是中国新闻史上的大事。该案表明近代媒体舆论力量的增强,也充分说明媒体导向容易左右大众情感。  相似文献

算法已成为当今数字媒体技术的决定性因素,新闻推荐平台借助算法技术连接人与信息,为人们提供个性化的新闻服务。本研究基于算法和用户互动的视角,采用问卷调查方法,以新闻算法推荐平台的使用者为研究对象,探讨算法推荐的信息可见性、用户主动性和信息茧房效应。结果显示,新闻算法推荐整体上以用户为中心,在新闻可见性上,用户对趣味新奇性价值的认知感最强,新闻个性化程度凸显;用户对新闻推荐的使用上,以被动浏览行为最为普遍,自主性总体不高;用户对推荐算法技术有一定了解,表现出一定的算法素养;算法推荐对用户并未造成单纯的信息茧房效应,它同样可扩大受众接触资讯的范围,将用户带入更广阔的世界。最后,本文讨论了用户和算法之间的关系,发现两者不是彼此孤立的存在,而是始终处于相互响应、相互发展的状态。  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Ethnographic and social scientific accounts of the financiers that buy and sell companies for profit often homogenize the players in these social dramas, relying on blunt, totalizing definitions of culture or overly deterministic articulations of habitus. This article, drawing on a two-year study of private equity investors, offers an alternative analytic frame for making sense of how private equity people buy and sell companies. It explores the ways in which private equity people make arguments persuading one another and the larger public that an investment is worth making. Important to these arguments are not only substantive content, the evidence that investors marshal to support a thesis, but also reflective evaluation of what counts as good evidence, meta-commentary. It is in these split levels of analysis that we can appreciate the cultural diversity within finance, Wall Street, and investment banking. I will also suggest that understanding how investors are arguing substantively as well as meta-pragmatically begins to outline a useful theory of culture change within the world of investment banking.  相似文献   

Latino Portrayals in Local News Media: Underrepresentation,Negative Stereotypes,and Institutional Predictors of Coverage

Given the rise in negative rhetoric about Latinos in the U.S., it is essential to examine whether this negative tone extends to general, local news as well. An analysis of 2426 news articles drawn from 55 local newspapers in 2015 reveals several important findings. First, despite the intense spotlight on Latinos, they are still underrepresented in local news media. Relative to the other ethnic groups and whites, Latinos are more likely to be portrayed through negative stereotypes. However, the probability of this negative coverage is smaller for news media with a big proportion of Latino audiences, or for publicly-owned media outlets.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Despite widespread assertions as to the ‘Americanization’ of British culture in the first half of the twentieth century, the true extent of this cultural transfer remains open to question. This article considers what the British people actually knew about ‘America’, its institutions, culture and way of life, in this period through an analysis of coverage of the USA in the British news media (press, newsreels and wireless) in the inter-war years. Specific attention is paid to the attempts of the BBC – in particular through the broadcasting work of Raymond Gram Swing and Alistair Cooke – to provide an understanding of contemporary America beyond the widely cited stereotypes of ‘Chicago gangsters and Hollywood blondes'.  相似文献   

Working with rules: lived democracy in school

This study focuses on an attempt by a Swedish secondary school teacher to fashion a more participatory education situation by involving his students in deciding the rules for their group work. Five group sessions were video recorded and examined using a conversation–analytic approach. The findings show a complex interplay between democratic and undemocratic elements in the interaction between the teacher and the students, as well as among the students themselves. Throughout the material, the students often reconnected to the democratic discourse of the teacher and employed it for various purposes. This also meant that the students’ work with the assignment was sometimes set aside. However, because it can be assumed that the students pick up new democratic competencies as they partake in the sessions, the teacher's participatory agenda can still be defended. The findings are discussed in relation to previous research.  相似文献
