少数民族传统体育的基本成因及其特点

Ali–Frazier 1: Black Gladiators,White Promoters,and the Economics of Big-Time Boxing

Abstract

The March 1971 heavyweight championship bout between undefeated black boxers Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier elicited numerous responses. Ali, because of his brash persona, refusal to be drafted into the Vietnam War, and outspoken criticisms of white racism, had become a potent symbol of 1960s rebellion and Black Power. Frazier, by claiming the heavyweight championship while Ali was banished, cozying up to white politicians, and refusing to criticize the US government, made himself a worthy foil for Ali’s politics. But as the rhetoric surrounding the fight intensified, regarding black masculinity, patriotism, and community pride, one key aspect of the fight opened up debates in a surprising realm: the economics of black athletes and the possibilities and limitations of black capitalism. In an era when black capitalist programmes emerged nationwide, and when African-American athletes took on more vocal roles as community activists, the battles over the bout’s financial promotion became intense. While the boxers took home an unprecedented $2.5 million each for their participation, total revenues reached nearly $30 million. Discussions of the fight’s payout shed light on a wide range of economic issues facing the black community, and some of the unresolved issues in the quest for civil rights.  相似文献

思考中国传统哲学资源在21世纪的价值,离不开西学的参照。由西方传入的现代性与后现代主义为中国哲学的现代转型准备了条件。中国哲学本有的开放性则为这一转型提供了现实的可能。应当在认真总结自身短长的基础上,将西方的现代性精神与中国传统的真善美的价值追求自觉结合起来,“一阴一阳之谓道”的结构模型和变常互动互补的生存机制集中体现了中国哲学的价值。经过与现代性,后现代的相互折衷,必将能够适应新世纪的需要。  相似文献

Stories of Haka and Women’s Rugby in Aotearoa New Zealand: Weaving Identities and Ideologies Together

Abstract

Sociology and history are intimately related to each other and cannot be clearly separated or isolated from each other which resonates with a Māori view of time (the past, present, and future are not distinct entities) and realms (the spiritual and human in particular). This paper uses pūrākau and storytelling to explore how haka performed by strong women in tribal narratives, in Māori contexts, and in women’s rugby creates a more nuanced understanding of the embodied discourses associated with intersecting identities (gender, race, ethnicity, class) in and around the sport of rugby union. As a Māori woman, heavily invested in the sport of rugby union, how did the words and actions of Māori women from my past influence my present and my future and how was this embodied and experienced through haka? In particular, my 10 years as a member of the New Zealand women’s rugby team and my understanding of the histories or pūrākau (tribal stories) of strong women in te ao Māori (the Māori world) inform this paper. This will help to illustrate how history and sociology are intimately connected and highlights how intersecting stories told through time, from different perspectives can influence key learnings in sport.  相似文献

兰斯顿.休斯无疑是20世纪最优秀的黑人诗人之一。对他诗作的研究成果在国内外也是汗牛充栋,然而大多数的研究侧重于他的代表作,即他中后期的作品,而对他的早期作品,即他的成名之作《萎靡的布鲁斯》重视明显不足。可无论从诗歌的形式和内容上来说,《萎靡的布鲁斯》对休斯后来的创作都起到了路标般的作用。而这种路标式的作用也正是任何一个休斯的喜爱者和研究者不可以忽视的。  相似文献

Black South African students have a poor success rate in school leaving mathematics examinations. Attempts have been made to shift teachers' practices from teacher-centredness to learner-centredness, in Black schools, in order to improve the situation. So far, the attempts failed to yield the desired results.
