Individual and cultural factors in teachers’ attitudes towards inclusion: A meta-analysis

The success of inclusive education is dependent upon classroom teachers implementing adaptations for children with disabilities. Given that willingness to make such adaptations is influenced by teacher attitudes, the current study examined teachers’ attitudes towards inclusive education through a meta-analysis of 64 samples that were found via a systematic literature search. The results indicated that teachers hold a positive attitude towards inclusion of children with disabilities in mainstream schools and that these attitudes are moderated by an interplay of cultural and demographical factors. The findings offer a renewed basis for intervention research into improving educational opportunities for children around the world.  相似文献

Personal reactions to ‘strange’ situations: Attachment styles and acculturation attitudes of immigrants and majority members

A growing number of studies examine the influence of individual factors on acculturation attitudes of immigrants, but few studies focus on majority members’ attitudes. In this paper, two studies are reported on the relation between attachment styles and acculturation attitudes of both immigrants (N=177) and majority members (N=243) in the Netherlands. Until now very few studies have associated cultural adjustment with attachment styles. This is remarkable, because attachment theory refers to interaction with others in new situations. Four different styles of attachment (the secure, dismissing, preoccupied and fearful attachment styles) are related to Berry's classification of acculturation attitudes. People, both immigrants and majority members, with a secure attachment style were positive towards integration, whereas people with a dismissing attachment style were not. Dismissing immigrants were more positive towards separation. Whereas both immigrants and majority members with a secure attachment style showed a similar pattern of correlations between attachment and acculturation, they seem to react quite differently, and even in opposite ways, when they have a preoccupied attachment style. Yet, the different reactions may be caused by the same psychological process: The existential ambivalence of preoccupied people may lead to diverse reactions.  相似文献

《中国日报》于2021年夏开始的对云南亚洲象北行的专题英文报道,利用多平台综合信息展示了中国环保实践,在全球广受好评。本次报道与习近平总书记构建中国话语和中国叙事体系的理念十分相符,其中生态理念的本土特质得到凸显,官民一体的形象得到了积极塑造,而中国科技能力的展现也融入了一个好故事的解说之中。中国当代的环境叙事必须反映人与自然的生命共同体与人类命运共同体的完整结合;"北向追象"所构造的具有中国特色的环境叙事之所以取得了很好的外宣效果,跟其紧扣这一完整性的表达密不可分,对于今后的国际传播工作也提供了颇多启示。  相似文献   

西方“儿童美术的发现”析论

在人类思想史上,"儿童美术"与"儿童"类似,经历了被"无视""误视"再到"正视"的过程。艺术家、艺术理论家、教育家、心理学家等的多重视野促成了"儿童美术的发现"。各方初衷不尽相同,却具有共同的倾向,即对"自然"的追寻,对传统的僵化规则的反叛,对创造力和自由表达的重视。这些倾向是儿童美术的独立性得以凸显的思想背景。在此背景下,儿童美术中所体现的儿童"天性"成为艺术家们反思自己的创作、寻求突破的重要资源,也成为教育家、心理学家们重要的研究面向。艺术家向儿童学习,思想家赞美童心,儿童美术的本质、发展特征、心理内容等不断被揭示。这些来自不同视域的"发现",丰富着成人的儿童美术观、儿童观,也成为教育反思的重要前提。  相似文献   

Disciplined freedom,branded authenticity,and dependable independence: how tensions enact flexibility in lifestyle blogging careers

Analyzing 219 blog posts from 52 self-employed women lifestyle bloggers in North America, this study shows how these digital professionals navigate tensions and communicatively constitute work flexibility. In their narratives, women bloggers employed tension management approaches such as reframing, continual connections, and reflective practice in response to tensions in enacting temporal–spatial, identity, and financial flexibility. Specifically, women followed oxymoronic constructions – disciplined freedom, branded authenticity, and dependable independence – to embrace and transform competing poles of fluidity?structure, authenticity?marketability, and independence?interconnection. Expanding work–life research to the self-employed digital labor context, this study responds to recent calls to uncover more-than tension management strategies in empirical settings and contributes to a tension-centered, contextual, and processual analysis of workplace flexibility construction.  相似文献

The Australian National University Archives holds both the archives of the University and a large collection of business and labour archives in the Noel Butlin Archives Centre. Both are governed by collecting policies, and neither of these policies mention gender. This article reviews the Invisible Farmer project – the largest study of Australian women on the land – a third of the way through its three year funding period. It introduces the aims of this collaborative and multidisciplinary project, focusing on the role of records and oral histories in the creation of new narratives, and the task of raising public awareness of the important historical and contemporary contributions made by Australian women farmers.
