Fee-based services may influence, both subtly and dramatically, the operation of a medical library. Fears that have been raised about the consequences of fee-based services are recalled and applied to the context of medical librarianship. Specifically covered are the effects of fee-based services on service to traditional user groups, collection development, interlibrary cooperation, and management style. 本文采用实地调查与文献调查相结合的方法,考察了目前高校图书馆所开展信息服务中的有偿部分、收费标准及收费模式,进而探讨了基于事业性收费前提的图书馆有偿信息服务应该采取什么样的有效模式.研究发现,高校图书馆进行收费的服务项目大部分属于竞争性情报类,对象不同标准也不尽相同,从而保障了本校读者需求,也满足了一定程度的社会需求,尤其是在利用特色数据库进行服务的过程中,复合模式起到了重要的平衡作用. 相似文献

Title IVB of the Library Services and Construction Act of 1966 stimulated the growth of library services to people with handicaps in Ohio, as in other states. The IVB Advisory Council was instrumental in setting the direction of service for more than a decade, and encouraged the involvement of public libraries in promoting the braille and talking book service, state and regional workshops for librarians, a state consultant for library services to the handicapped, improvement of services at the two regional libraries to the blind and physically handicapped, and model projects funded by L.S.C.A. The successor to the IVB Advisory Council, and Advisory Committee for Library Outreach Services, continues to advise the State Library Board and State Library staff and Ohio's experience can serve as a model to other states as they implement TITLE IVB. 相似文献

目前图书馆界关于有偿服务问题的研究存在两大局限：一是多在理论的层面上进行，实地调查较少，导致论辩中的经济、社会效果缺乏真切的数据支撑；二是基础研究缺乏实证，虽争论热烈但缺少创新的模式和具体的系统设计措施。作者对全国省级公共图书馆进行了问卷调查，依据得到的数据进行了初步分析，进而提出自己的看法：（1）有偿服务应界定于补偿性服务范畴，并严格区分非赢利性服务和以赢利为目的的市场经济行为；（2）规范有偿服务的收费标准和价值体系；（3）有偿服务不能为公共图书馆提供长期运转资金，图书馆发展仍必须依靠国家、社会的支持。 相似文献

Martha Stortz is a student in the Library and Information Science (LIS) program at the University of Western Ontario. In this essay she offers her perspective on the teaching of librarianship. The University of Western Ontario's LIS program is part of the Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS) and enjoys the benefits of interdisciplinarity brought about by collaboration with other FIMS programs such as Journalism and Media Studies. Originally founded as the independent School of Library and Information Science in 1967, the school merged with other programs in 1996 to form FIMS. Two major LIS programs of study are offered: one leading to the Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) and the other to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
