The affordances of technology-based assessments, like the objectively structured practical examination, have become an integral part of gross anatomy courses. The Department of Anatomy Faculty of Medicine at the University of Warmia and Mazury developed and introduced an application for tablet devices which has been implemented in student examinations and assessments, called the tablet-assisted objective structured spotter practical examination. It was created to simplify the educational process and to build a rich learning environment, facilitating deep learning for students through examination and feedback data. The method consists of cadaver stations with traditional corresponding pin spotters in an expanded tablet application. It not only provides instant feedback on various observations of teaching–learning skills but has also positively affected the entire process of education. The method provides an unbiased evaluation of knowledge and understanding of the anatomy course, ensuring objectivity and standardization. The current study was performed on a total of 608 first-year medical students in Polish and English divisions and focused on the observed advantages since the new method was introduced. Outcomes indicate that after the implementation of the method for both the Polish and English divisions' first-year medical students, the mean score of examinations significantly increased compared to other teaching–learning methods. The study highlights that students were excited about the implementation of the new method and identified its many benefits. It is recognized that technological development and the digital environment offer a range of opportunities and added value versus traditional assessment activities, methods, and processes.  相似文献

Traditional medical education methodologies have been dramatically impacted by the introduction of new teaching approaches over the past few decades. In particular, the “flipped classroom” format has drawn a great deal of attention. However, evidence regarding the effectiveness of the flipped model remains limited due to a lack of outcome‐based studies. In the present study, a pilot histology curriculum of the organ systems was implemented among 24 Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) students in a flipped classroom format at Jinan University. As a control, another 87 TCM students followed a conventional histology curriculum. The academic performance of the two groups was compared. In addition, a questionnaire was administered to the flipped classroom group. The test scores for the flipped classroom participants were found to be significantly higher compared to non‐participants in the control group. These results suggest that students may benefit from using the flipped classroom format. Follow‐up questionnaires also revealed that most of the flipped classroom participants undertook relatively more earnest preparations before class and were actively involved in classroom learning activities. The teachers were also found to have more class time for leading discussions and delivering quizzes rather than repeating rote didactics. Consequently, the increased teaching and learning activities contributed to a better performance among the flipped classroom group. This pilot study suggests that a flipped classroom approach can be used to improve histology education among medical students. However, future studies employing randomization, larger numbers of students, and more precise tracking methods are needed before definitive conclusions can be drawn. “内科护理学”是一门综合性应用学科,学好“内科护理学”是学好临床护理专业课程的关键。为探讨基于UMU移动互动平台“内科护理学”翻转课堂的教学实践效果,分别将2018级105名、2017级93名护理学专业学生作为实验组及对照组,2018级同学采用基于UMU移动平台的翻转课堂授课方式,2017级同学采用传统的课堂授课方式。结果显示,实验组学生的学习效果好于对照组,差异显著(P<0.05),94.3%的学生对该课程这种教学方式的改革表示满意。实践研究表明,基于UMU移动互动平台翻转课堂教学模式在“内科护理学”课程的教学中效果良好,值得推广应用。  相似文献

为了顺应网络碎片化学习的要求,文章利用微信平台搭建智能移动学习环境,并在其基础上设计"弹性翻转课堂"教学模式.不同于传统的翻转课堂,该教学模式在每个教学环节中引入有效的反馈机制,让教师及时调整当前课程以及下次课程的授课内容、教学方法以及教学进度.对计算机专业的学生进行教学实验,结果表明该教学模式可以提高学生在课前环节的参与度,调动学习积极性,并取得了较好的学习效果.  相似文献

In most medical schools, summative practical examination in Anatomy usually takes the format of a “steeplechase” (“spotters” or “bell ringers”) conducted in the gross anatomy laboratory using cadaveric material and prosected specimens. Recently, we have started to administer similar examinations online using the quiz facility in WebCT? and Moodle?. This article chronicles how we conceived and developed this method within the peculiar nature of our medical school setting. Over a five year period, practical summative examinations were organized as “steeplechase” online. The online examinations were administered using WebCT? and later Moodle? learning management software. Assessment “objects” were created from the materials available for anatomy teaching. These were digital images of cadaveric materials, radiological, and prosected specimens. In addition, short video clips of 30 seconds duration demonstrating muscle action were produced. These objects were optimized for online viewing and then uploaded onto the learning management software. A bank of questions (multiple choice or short answer type) was then created and linked to the assessment objects. These were used in place of the steeplechase in the computer laboratory. This method serves a crucial purpose in places like ours where continuous availability of human cadavers is impossible. Although time consuming initially, once questions are setup online, future retrieval, and administration becomes convenient especially where there are large batches of students. 以探讨“对分课堂(the Presentation-Assimilation-Discussion,PAD)”与“翻转课堂(Flipped Classroom,FC)”整合教学模式在中药化学实验教学中的应用效果为目的,将学生分为PAD-FC教学试验组和传统教学对照组,中药化学实验课程结束后,对两组学生的实验期末考试成绩、实验总评成绩、理论课程期末考试成绩进行统计分析;同时绘制两组学生的各项考试成绩的直方分布图和正态分布图,比较差异。结果显示,PAD-FC教学试验组的中药化学实验期末考试成绩、实验总评成绩和理论课程成绩均优于传统教学对照组(p<0.05),同时试验组学生的各项成绩的高分学生数目明显较对照组增多,不及格人数大大减少,试验组学生各成绩的正态分布曲线较对照组明显偏向高分段。说明在中药化学实验中应用PAD-FC教学模式,能极大增强学生的学习效果,提高学生的自主学习能力,并能促进理论课程的学习。  相似文献

探讨在五年制护理专业运用基于微课的翻转课堂教学模式实施的效果。选取五年制护理学生作为观察对象,随机分为对照组和实验组,分别采取传统的讲授式教学模式和基于微课的翻转课堂教学模式。实验发现,实验组考试成绩明显高于对照组成绩;实验组学生对新教学模式较容易接受,各项基本能力和技能都得到了一定的提高。五年制护理专业的学生应用基于微课的翻转课堂学教模式,学生成绩大幅度提高,提升了学生自主学习能力和和生理学教学质量。  相似文献

The flipped classroom is a teaching methodology that has gained recognition in primary, secondary and higher education settings. The flipped classroom inverts traditional teaching methods, delivering lecture instruction outside class, and devoting class time to problem solving, with the teacher's role becoming that of a learning coach and facilitator. This methodology provides an avenue for more hands‐on and student‐driven learning during class time. The benefits of a flipped classroom include increased student motivation, differentiating instruction, self‐pacing lessons and mastery learning, increased collaboration and instant feedback for formative assessment. Although limited research has been conducted regarding students with learning difficulties in inclusive settings using a flipped learning model, initial research indicates flipping a classroom can be beneficial. Information is provided on inclusive practices from numerous countries that are beneficial to students with learning difficulties, as well as strategies and resources for individuals who may want to implement a flipped classroom.  相似文献

为探讨翻转课堂教学法应用于“康复工程学”课程的教学效果,将广州中医药大学康复治疗学大三学生随机分为两组,在康复工程学的腕手矫形器制作的章节教学中,实验组采用翻转课堂教学法,对照组采用传统授课模式,对实验组和对照组的学生作品、课堂汇报成绩及教学评价结果进行统计学对比分析。结果表明,采用翻转课堂教学法的小组学生得分和教学评价得分均显著优于传统课堂,结果具有显著的统计学意义。学生对翻转课堂这种新型教学模式有浓厚的兴趣,翻转课堂教学模式应用于教学,能有效提高教学效果和培养学生的主动学习意识。  相似文献

翻转课堂模式将教学流程由“先教后学”转变为“先学后教”,将学生转变为教学活动的主体,实现了教学流程的逆序创新,是对传统课堂讲授模式的一种改革。本文对翻转课堂模式应用于交叉学科地理信息系统基础与实验课程中的必要性及具体设计实施进行了探索。具体实施阶段分为教学准备阶段、信息传递阶段、应用消化阶段和综合评价阶段。通过设置对照实验,表明翻转课堂模式的教学对学生的自主学习能力、思辨能力和创新能力等,都有积极的促进作用。  相似文献

Anatomy is shifting toward a greater focus on adopting digital delivery. To advance digital and authentic learning in anatomy, a flipped classroom model integrating multimodal digital resources and a multimedia group assignment was designed and implemented for first-year neuroanatomy and third-year regional anatomy curricula. A five-point Likert scale learning and teaching survey was conducted for a total of 145 undergraduate health science students to evaluate students' perception of the flipped classroom model and digital resources. This study revealed that over two-thirds of participants strongly agreed or agreed that the flipped classroom model helped their independent learning and understanding of difficult anatomy concepts. The response showed students consistently enjoyed their experience of using multimodal digital anatomy resources. Both first-year (75%) and third-year (88%) students strongly agreed or agreed that digital tools are very valuable and interactive for studying anatomy. Most students strongly agreed or agreed that digital anatomy tools increased their learning experience (~80%) and confidence (> 70%). The third-year students rated the value of digital anatomy tools significantly higher than the first-year students (p = 0.0038). A taxonomy-based assessment strategy revealed that the third-year students, but not the first-year, demonstrated improved performance in assessments relating to clinical application (p = 0.045). In summary, a flipped anatomy classroom integrating multimodal digital approaches exerted positive impact upon learning experience of both junior and senior students, the latter of whom demonstrated improved learning performance. This study extends the pedagogy innovation of flipped classroom teaching, which will advance future anatomy curriculum development, pertinent to post-pandemic education.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

One of the blended learning strategies that researchers and educators commonly use in higher education is Flipped Classroom. The purpose of this case study was to explore how both professors and students perceive student engagement in flipped classrooms. Three college professors who implemented flipped classrooms and their 14 students participated in the study. Three individual faculty interviews and three student focus group interviewers were conducted. Five components of the utilization-focused evaluation model were used in the data coding. The findings revealed both positive and negative opinions depending on how they implemented the flipped classroom including the engagement of students and the environment. Faculty participants who fully implemented the flipped model had positive opinions about the implementation and student engagement, finding the model helped increase student performance and grades. In addition, the majority of student participants liked the challenges offered by the flipped classroom, which increased their engagement.  相似文献

基于MOOCs的翻转课堂非常适合应用于电大远程教育。其模式需分三步实现:一是课前进行基于MOOCs的视频制作,二是学生在网络平台自主学习、在线讨论和教师网络课堂答疑,三是对学习进行多元化评价。实施基于MOOCs的翻转课堂,应提高学生自主学习能力和合作学习能力,教师应成为学习引导者和学习策略制定者,且必须精通现教技术。  相似文献
