文章旨在研究美国“图书馆准备好编程”项目给图书馆行业带来的信息素养教育改革新趋势。通过文献分析和案例研究,对“图书馆准备好编程”项目的三个阶段进行了梳理,汇总整理项目成果并探讨项目所蕴含的计算思维内涵;在此基础上调查论述国内外计算思维教育现状。经研究总结发现“图书馆准备好编程”项目对我国高校图书馆信息素养教育改革主要有以下几方面启示:高校图书馆应重视并在信息素养教育中引入计算思维;制定计算思维能力评估框架;图书馆各级学会应积极联动发挥顶层设计优势;开发高校图书馆大数据资产作为教育资源;培养具有计算思维的图书情报人才。 相似文献

This article provides a case study of how the University of Nebraska College of Law and Schmid Law Library use “buttons” to manage Law College faculty members’ and librarians’ online presence. Since Google is the primary search engine used to find information, it is important that librarians and libraries assist Web site visitors in finding relevant information about faculty members at an academic institution. Easily identifiable buttons allow visitors to navigate to faculty scholarship in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Digital Commons, SSRN Web site, or both, in an academic service such as lessons from the Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction and in social software sites like Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn. The case study includes (1) how the project was implemented, (2) the feedback and results of a survey, and (3) an analysis of Web site statistics, clicks, and links data gathered via Google Analytics. This project was a partnership between the Law College Communications Department, Law College Administration, and the Law Library, involving law faculty, staff, and librarians. The buttons project was considered a successful venture by participating faculty members; it also provided an opportunity for face-to-face conversation between faculty members and librarians about digital scholarship and social media in the academic environment. 相似文献

Interest in subject specialists in academic libraries has recently been increasing. After being a trend in the West in the 1960s, interest declined in this method of service provision in academic libraries until its recent return to prominence in the last decade. The purpose of this article is to introduce the current movement of Korean librarianship toward subject specialization in academic libraries, and the efforts that are being undertaken to support that movement. The findings are taken from a large project report funded by The National Library of Korea during 2008. When the project was underway it was very difficult to find articles about trends in non-English speaking countries. With this in mind, we authors decided to publish and share our experiences. This article is expected to be a helpful source for similar research or projects in other countries, and to provide an opportunity to share experiences and communicate. 相似文献

AbstractThis article reports on the “2019 Best Practices from World Libraries” Photo Gallery Project initiated by the International Connections Committee (ICC) of the International Relations Round Table (IRRT) at the American Library Association (ALA). The project was inspired by a 2018 ALA-IRRT Emerging Leader’s project, Toward Increasing Engagement of International New Professional Leaders in ALA Activities, which followed a survey study developed to explore IRRT’s ability to engage its international members. The article shares the project planning process and the key actions taken to build a virtual and physical gallery for the 2019 ALA Annual Conference in Washington, DC, as well as highlights example programs from the project which demonstrate how libraries around the world are building stronger communities. In the last two decades, the University of Colima has worked out a very interesting project for information technologies development through its Coordination for Information Technologies (CIT) program. This has provided years of experience in the application of technologies for the academic community. After its designation as a UNESCO Regional Center, our university developed a very ambitious education and research plan that was submitted to one of UNESCO's educational programs. This project was approved as the “UNESCO Chair on New Information Technologies,” and it started working successfully with the “Diploma Course on Digital Libraries” 2 years ago.The Diploma Course is part of the action taken toward the creation of a Great Iberoamerican and the Caribbean Digital Library. Today 144 trainers from 36 national libraries in Latin America and the Caribbean state members are receiving training courses based on the UNESCO methodology, which is comprised of the registration of digital objects, adherence to standards for audio and video digitization, and development of an international open-source software for information management. 相似文献

This study examines how academic librarians at the Complutense University (Spain) perceive project management techniques that are becoming increasingly popular in library and information centers due to the need to comply with their strategic planning and services. To reach this goal, a quantitative and qualitative methodology was applied and a survey, in the form of a questionnaire, was used as a data gathering tool. The response rate was 31.2%. The key findings are based on respondents' education regarding project management skills and their expertise managing projects, as well as the presence of project management courses in the Library and Information Science Spanish curriculum. This study revealed that over one third of the academic staff completed their project management training by self-directed learning. Additionally, over half of them stated that they had not participated in any library project in the last five years, and almost half of the library staff concluded that project management techniques are quite important as formal courses in the Library and Information Science university programs. The study is interesting and revealing for those library and information services professionals who are facing day-to-day to users' demands and Library and Information Science challenges. 相似文献

This article provides a background for the change of the classification system for Chinese language materials at an academic library. It describes how the decision was made; how choices on partial reclassification or total reclassification were made; and how matters such as project planning, implementation, and vision for the future are being handled. It is hoped that the authors’ experience can offer tips for other libraries contemplating reclassification projects. By making use of the Chinese Library Classification (CLC) numbers from various sources in Mainland China, the authors envisage increased cataloging efficiency and cost saving in the long run. 相似文献

A survey was conducted between July and November 2012 to determine how academic libraries in the United States and Canada marketed and delivered information literacy on the Web. A random sample of 264 institutions was taken from Peterson's Four-Year Colleges 2012, and the authors checked each Web site of the academic libraries of the institutions in the sample for instruction-related activities. Only 65 percent of the libraries in the sample advertised library instruction as a service on the Web, while 64 percent of the libraries boasted research guides and tutorials. Sixteen percent of the libraries provided direct links to ACRL's Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education, and 24 percent made an effort to explain and define the term “information literacy” to their users. The authors hope the findings can help determine how academic libraries are currently using the Internet to increase information literacy on the Web and set a new platform for better strategies for advocating information literacy. 相似文献
