A Participatory Outcome Evaluation on the Impact of BSW Interns on Agencies

This article reviews the findings of an exploratory study investigating the perceived benefits and costs of BSW interns for host agencies. The qualitative study included surveys from over 100 agency student supervisors, colleagues, and administrative personnel assessing the perceived effects students had on a range of categories. It also included a quantitative assessment of financial savings derived through student contributions. Benefits of using student work included increased quality and quantity of services available to clients as well as generic positive effects on the outlook and attitudes of supervisors and agency staff. Minimal negative effects included student turnover and occasional instances of unprofessional attitudes.  相似文献

在李白故里江油市,李白文化在儒家庙宇、佛寺、道观等处都有影响痕迹。这是故里人们自古以来通过民俗信仰表达对诗仙李白的崇敬之情。这些寺庙观宇具有较高的民俗学价值和文化旅游价值。有关部门应对这些寺庙观宇进行保护与开发,并将其纳入李白文化旅游路线规划。这对江油市打造以李白文化为品牌的旅游城市,有着不能忽视的重要意义。这些寺庙观宇实际具有了从民俗学角度传承李白文化的功能。由此引发我们对当下江油市文化教育的深层思考。  相似文献   

Double standards and first principles: framing teaching assistant support for pupils with special educational needs

Teaching assistants (TAs) are part of a growing international trend toward paraprofessionals working in public services. There has been controversy over TAs’ deployment and appropriate role when supporting the learning of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in mainstream schools. Such debates have been transformed by findings from a large study of school support staff in the UK (the DISS project). The findings from this study show that TA support has a negative impact on pupils’ academic progress, especially pupils with SEN. The findings render the current system of support for SEN highly questionable: TAs have inadvertently become the primary educators of pupils with SEN. This paper sets out the likely explanations for the negative effects in terms of three ‘frames’ – deployment, practice and preparedness – and then uses these frames to identify specific implications for pupils with SEN. We offer suggestions on how to make the most productive use of TA support.  相似文献

Abstract

An aspect of the apparent independence of educational innovation and educational research was investigated. Thirty-four professors of educational psychology and fifty junior high school teachers ranked in importance eight kinds of information about an educational innovation and evaluated the credibility of eight sources of educational information. The correlation between the rankings by each faculty was insignificant, but the correlation between the credibility evaluation by each faculty was .84 and significant. Each faculty generally found its own colleagues and their activities more important and credible; an important finding was that teachers regarded standardized test research results as much less important than the professors who regarded it as most important.  相似文献

Blended learning is a diverse and expanding area of design and inquiry that combines face-to-face and online modalities. As blended learning research matures, numerous voices enter the conversation. This study begins the search for the center of this emerging area of study by finding the most cited scholarship on blended learning. Using Harzing’s Publish or Perish software (http://www.harzing.com/pop.htm), we determined the most frequently cited books, book chapters, and articles on the subject of blended learning, as well as the journals in which these highly cited articles appeared. Through these findings we offer some conclusions about where the conversations about blended learning are happening, which scholars are at the forefront of these conversations, and other emerging trends in blended learning scholarship.  相似文献
