高校图书馆作为学校的文献信息资源中心,在教学科研方面为广大师生提供重要的信息服务。被称为没有围墙的大学。目前,信息资源的共建共享已成为高校图书馆面临的重大任务。于是以"共同参与,共建共享,利益互惠"为目标的高校图书馆联盟随之发展起来。图书馆联盟是各类图书馆联合共建的最新形式,也是图书馆未来发展的必然趋势。本文认真研究了国内典型高校图书馆联盟发展现状及经验,分析了高校图书馆联盟建设中存在的问题。最后,对高校图书馆联盟的建设提出了一些可行性建议。 相似文献

ABSTRACT Collection development remains a major focus and concern of current interest for all types of libraries. Consortia began as a means of sharing resources and of leveraging purchasing power for its members. How does a library balance its individual collection needs, both present and future, when it is a member of a consortium? Do the expectations of the consortium outweigh the needs of the individual library member? This article will address how an academic library engages in collection development at the local and consortia levels, addresses the benefits and challenges of consortia memberships, and responds to its local patrons in light of its obligations and commitment to a consortium. 相似文献

Changing trends in library use and management of e-resources were discussed by Jane Burke from ProQuest/Serials Solutions. A paradigm shift in library collections has occurred in which e‐resources are now the major component of new library materials, requiring new ways to manage and display them. The use of e‐resource access and management services was discussed as a helpful tool, along with federated searching. Burke suggested that by spending less time processing print materials and ending bibliographic instruction, more time will be available for librarians to market and manage e-resources, which will be of greater benefit to today's library users. 相似文献

公共部门信息资源蕴含着极大的经济价值和社会价值,是具有市场开发前景的特殊信息资源。本文以国内外公共部门信息资源增值开发利用效率为研究对象,分析国内外相关研究进展。研究发现,公共部门信息资源增值开发利用效率研究较为全面,包括政策制度、市场机制等宏观层面,以及技术等中观层面和产品与服务等微观层面,具有一定的概括性与普适性。同时发现,基于用户视角的衡量与评价研究,对具体公共部门、具体信息资源类型的针对性研究,系统运用实证研究方法开展的研究是未来的重点研究领域。参考文献59。 相似文献

MedBiquitous is a consortium whose members are working to develop a common technology framework that will support reforms in healthcare education and competence assessment. The mission of MedBiquitous is to advance healthcare education through technology standards that promote professional competence, collaboration, and better patient care. The consortium members include professional medical associations, technology companies, e‐learning firms, and publishers, among others. It has become unimaginable to provide information – particularly scientific information – without e‐books. They have become part of today's combination of media, which includes printed books and journals, e‐journals, e‐books, and databases. When e‐books first appeared on the market, librarians very quickly formulated their key requirements. The most important requirement is functionality: it must be possible to look through a book chapter by chapter, and also to get a quick overview of a comprehensive monograph. Usage arrangements, including concurrent usage and use for interlibrary loans, are also important. The use of uniform technical standards increases the acceptance of e‐books. 相似文献

Electronic journals are so embedded into practice in academic libraries that it is easy to forget that this is not the case everywhere. In NHS libraries, for example, the staff face a particular set of issues. This article is based on Rebecca England's dissertation on this topic, completed as part of the MSc Econ course in Information and Library studies at Aberystwyth University. Rebecca is E‐resources Librarian at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. This article examines how consortia can engage commercial publishers' hybrid open access (OA) publication programs. The article argues that it is appropriate and necessary for consortia to demonstrate leadership in influencing the information marketplace. Two models for negotiations are examined: 1) “market determinative” strategy, and 2) “consortium discount” strategy, comprised of three variations on existing consortia practices. An examination of the advantages and challenges indicates that the latter would have a greater chance for success. Keys to this conclusion include: establishing linkages between consortium licensing and hybrid titles, cost containment/alignment, and engaging publishers through an integrated model approach. 相似文献
